Event Inclusivity

How it works...

Recommendations: 

● Ask each organization to create a position of an 'Accessibility Officer' in their E-board. The duties that entail the position will be (but not limited to):

  • Make sure all events organized by the organization are accessible.

  •  Ensure that the flyers for all events include a disability inclusivity statement and the Accessibility Officer's contact details to consider any accessibility request and modify the event accordingly. 

  • Create a list of preliminary accessibility measures and include it in the allocation request for the event. 

  •  These Accessibility Officers would be required to participate in a training workshop led by the DRS

  • Encourage the formation of a position of 'Accessibility Technician' in the Allocations Committee to ensure that all requests have adequate preliminary accessibility measures.
